A warm welcome to readers. My name is Jeff D Buchanan. I am an independent author, with six books currently in circulation. I am here, writing this as an introduction, and invitation to explore my titles, in the hope the themes therein will warrant a read. Being that books are one of the few elements in the world that succeed expressly on word of mouth, I have great faith that persistence is the real magic when one deigns to pursue the arts.  My influences range from Ray Bradbury and Arthur C. Clarke, to Ernest Hemingway and Tennessee Williams, from Cormac McCarthy to Toni Morrison and D.H. Lawrence to Anais Nin and Henry Miller. This is why it is of special satisfaction that two of my novels are showcased on the shelves of the Henry Miller Memorial Library in Big Sur.
 
My interest in hard science fiction and sensual literature often finds me experimenting with combining genres, aspiring to capture an organic and harmonious mix of human emotion with engaging story themes. Of special note, I want to ensure to my readers that as a purist, I have never, and will never enlist the artificial means of A.I. to produce content. I personally view A.I. as an affront to human imagination and a dangerous derailing of the art and craft of literature. Perhaps this thinking makes me a dinosaur, but I’m worth preserving.

About the Author.

Jeff D Buchanan is an award-winning commercial director and former indie film producer whose films have screened at Sundance and in the prestigious Deauville Film Festival.
Since 2002 he has been a principal figure and voice in motorcycle journalism.

Collected Wanderings represent some of his more esoteric two-wheel wanderings. A sampling of his unique essays and stories can be seen at www.speedthewheel.com.

Buchanan has turned his attention from filmmaking and has settled in the more rewarding, and autonomous realm of writing novels. A life-long lover of neorealistic science fiction, he penned The Plunge of Icarus (which is available in manuscript form, as well as the innovative Cinenovel® platform for the Kindle Fire - www.cinenovel.com), presenting a unique mix of futurism and mythology.

His second novel, Earthrise, is about the very first murder on Mars. A lover of short stories, Buchanan collected his esoteric and irreverent short stories into Karmic Blues.
Buchanan's latest work is a step into a new genre for him. The Carnal Education of Miss Vicky is a period romance, set against the First World War. It is an entanglement of three people brought together by a calamity of events stemming from the harrowing reality of the war. Be forewarned, the novel contains graphic sexuality
